Release Notes

This is a preview version of Opera. Use only on properly backed up computers and do not install over previous Opera versions.

Known limitations of the BitTorrent implementation

• BitTorrent relies on the e-mail client to be enabled. Do not set "Enable mail client" in opera6.ini to 0 or use the -nomail switch on Linux.
• Limitations in download and upload speeds will be correct in average over time, but will cause speed to change in bursts.
• Selecting "Retransfer" in the transfer manager works identically to "Resume" for torrent transfers.
• No notification of completed download is given until the transfer is stopped by the user.
• When stopping, then resuming a torrent, transfer will proceed while the progress bar will show "Checking files" and may display unreliable progress information.
• When opening a finished torrent consisting of one or more folders from Opera's transfer manager, the folder view will open in the background.

Implemented support for BitTorrent

• Use like any other file download in Opera -- click the torrent link and select "Save".
• Displays a warning on first use.
• A [BitTorrent] section has been added to opera6.ini:
