To install one of the tar packages download it to a suitable location,
start a terminal application, switch to that directory and issue the
following:
$ tar xf opera-12.15-1745*.tar.xz
$ opera-12.15-1745*/install --user --unattended --name opera-12.1
You can confirm this by looking for an "Opera 12.1" entry in your
Applications menu.
