Release Notes

• The format of toolbar customization files has changed, thus all toolbar customizations will be lost when upgrading a previous install
• All previously fetched newsfeed messages will be redownloaded the first time a newsfeed is queried

Chat

• Added new pacman smiley: '<
• Added /clear command for clearing the channel buffer
• Added /ping <nick> command
• Fixed problem saving multiple Perform commands when connected items across sessions
• Fixed crash when using /ctcp <nick> with no other arguments
• Added support for autocompleting a nickname when using the multi-line feature of the input field
• Fixed problem opening URLs at the end of channel topics

Display/Rendering (Presto)

• Removed support for rowspan="0" in Quirks mode
• Fixed a problem where hovering links could cause table cells to resize
• Fixed problem submitting TEXTAREAs hidden using the CSS display property
• Fixed a 100% CPU problem related to pages that wouldn't finish loading

Mail (M2)

• Greatly improved startup time
• Fixed potential crash if Mail couldn't initialize
• Fixed problem with broken signatures in messages replies
• Fixed bug downloading messages from some POP servers by allowing illegal replies (i.e. responses that lack the required +OK prefix) to the LIST command
• Several Quick find improvements:
  • Partial match searches will not be performed for single-letter ASCII characters
  • Only the last word will trigger partial match searching (i.e. searching for go to washi should give results for messages containing Go, To, and Washington, not messages containing Google, Todo, and Washington)
  • Adding a space character at the end of a search term will perform a whole word match only
• Fixed problem where mailing list access points were added for messages filtered to the Spam view
• Fixed problem searching for words in recently downloaded messages
• Fixed problem clearing the message body when clearing the message list
• Fixed problem with signature display when changing accounts in a Compose window

Mouse and Keyboard

• Added new keyboard modifier: holding Shift will allow toolbar button drag and drop
• Added new keyboard modifier: holding Shift, Ctrl, or both will allow dragging links on the same page (to open a new page with the link)
• Corrected keyboard shortcut shown in menus for Manage bookmarks
• Fixed problem using Tab+Enter in the Search panel
• Fixed selection scroll for FRAMEs and IFRAMEs

Newsfeeds

• Messages will now honor the Prefer HTML setting
• Added support for <content:encoded>
• Fixed problem where some messages weren't fetched. This may lead to duplicate message download the first time a newsfeed is checked
• Updated URL for default Aftenposten newsfeed

Other

• Improved escaping of URLs (especially the character #)
• Fixed Telnet URI Handler issue as notified in personal communication by Idefense

Preferences

• Extended drag and drop preference flags:

  [User Prefs]
  Enable Drag = 7

  where

  • 1 = Allow dragging links and images
  • 2 = Allow dragging bookmarks
  • 4 = Allow dragging location url (address bar)
  • 8 = Enable drop in same window as drag started

  Add the numbers of the features you want to enable for the setting, i.e.

  • 9: 1 and 8 are activated
  • 7 (default setting): 1, 2 and 4 are activated
  • 255: everything is activated
• Added support for remembering the Show hidden toolbars when customizing setting

Scripting

• Fixed crash that occurred at several sites related to accessing named frames
• Fixed problem accessing DOM of TEXTAREAs hidden using the CSS display property
• Fixed problem where IFRAMEs weren't added to windows.frames collection
• Implemented support for accessing FRAME and IFRAME as index properties on the window object and window.frames array
• Fixed problem with menu display at Cingular.com

Skinning/Customization

• Added preview of new Opera Standard skin toolbar icons (i.e. the skin is unfinished)
• Changed format of toolbar customization files. Old toolbar files are incompatible and customizations will be lost. All toolbar entries now have alignment, style, and content sections, i.e. [Document Toolbar.alignment], [Document Toolbar.style], and [Document Toolbar.content]
• Added new Grow to fit INI setting for toolbars
• Buttons will now inherit the background color of their parent
• Added background to Search panel

User Interface

• Fixed crash that could occur while customizing toolbars
• Fixed crash that sometimes occured when showing the spelling checker dialog
• Restored the Manage button (») on panels to open Manage pages
• Fixed progress bar display in several dialogs
• Fixed a problem using Select all in certain dialogs
• Enabled toolbar extender in panel selector by default (Customize toolbars > Properties > Wrapping)
• Fixed problem with toolbar extender in panels
• Fixed problem with toolbar extender squishing the last button on the toolbar
• Fixed wrapping of vertical toolbar (like the panel selector)
• Changed search fields to buttons in the Search panel
• Changed address bar so that moving through the drop-down via the keyboard changes the address bar content, as in Opera 6
• Fixed problem displaying favicons sent with Content-Type: text/plain

Platform-specific Changes

• Improved system tray icon
  • Enhanced functionality and display
  • Removed the system tray icon if at least one Opera Mail (mail, news, chat, or newsfeeds) account wasn't setup
  • Added ability to customize the system tray icon menu using the [Tray Popup Menu] section of menu INI files
